We live in a time of exponential opportunities — let's make the most of them
I have come to realize that we live in an incredible era of opportunities, unlike anything humanity has ever experienced in its history.
One example of why I think this way is the comparison to companies from 30 years ago, when doing business required a certain amount of courage, skill, boldness, but also financial stability. Having enough money was the beginning of success, as in the former Eastern Bloc countries, few people had any substantial savings. Anyone who wanted to trade needed enough cash to cover the related fees.
The early days of capitalism gave everyone the same opportunity to do business and earn for themselves. At that time, we were all just employees of state or national enterprises, where economic development was centrally planned and there was only a minimal amount of competition.
In recent years, digitalization has proven that investing and entrepreneurship have no borders. The internet changed everything. Everything today is connected to the internet and to the applications tied to it. New fintech startups have enabled people to hold shares in massive companies.
This type of investment brought access to products, stocks, and digital currencies to billions of people, without requiring the account holder to have large balances or recommendations, which until recently were key for being managed by large institutions.
I am convinced that this trend will accelerate, and the opportunities to invest and participate in the global economy will continue to grow. I see the same significance in investing in startups, which today is done by large venture capital firms — a high-risk move with the chance of large profit redistribution among fund managers and shareholders.
The accessibility for people with lower incomes to participate in global growth will experience a boom, pushing all stock indices to new heights.
If the startup scene manages to provide tools to involve such investors without unnecessary fees, it will also enjoy strong interest from small-scale investors.
• Reducing bureaucracy and enabling direct management of investments and risks will increase capital available for new startups. The
innovations they bring will improve life on this planet and help protect it as well.
One such initiative will undoubtedly be blockchain, whose main advantages include: the ability to operate on a global level without borders acting as a barrier, the registration of shares used to benefit the buyer, and the certainty of transactions between buyer and seller.
The changes ahead will transform our world. We must learn to recognize them — and seize them.
I look forward to seeing such startup companies emerge, and we will gladly support them in their efforts.
